Richard “Rich” Rhea, 64, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Boone Hospital Center.

Rich was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life reflected his deep love for family, faith, and the simple joys of everyday living. He genuinely enjoyed time with those he loved and was known for always showing up for the people in his life.

He worked at Orscheln Farm and Home for 28 years and was a faithful member of Timber Lake Christian Church. Rich will be remembered for his steady presence, warm spirit, and the care he showed to those around him.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Richard “Dick” Rhea Sr. and Velda Rhea.
Rich loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife, Diane Rhea; his sister, Marilyn Rhea; his son, Chris Rhea, and his wife, Caitlin Rhea; his daughter, Lauren Kleinschmit, and her husband, Kasey Kleinschmit; his son, Patrick Rhea, and his wife, Jasmine Rhea; his stepsons, Jason Conklin, Joshua Conklin, and Jacob Conklin; and his grandchildren, Hudson and Madelyn Kleinschmit, Titus Rhea, Ella Conklin, Madilynn Conklin, Sydney Conklin, Noel Conklin, Alysse Conklin, Jackson Conklin, Emma Conklin, and Lilly Conklin.

He found joy in working on his farm and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. Rich also cherished the active and adventurous life he shared with Diane, including kayaking, bike riding, and making many meaningful memories together.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Timber Lake Christian Church in Moberly, Missouri. A funeral service will follow from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Memorials in memory of Rich maybe made to Timberlake Christian Church Counseling Services.
