Sharon B. Carney, age 90, of Macon, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Missouri.

Born October 21, 1935, in Upland, California, the daughter of Tresler and Grace (Hiebert) Boshart. On March 7, 1964, in Upland, California, she was united in marriage to Alan Carney who preceded her in death on November 11, 2013.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Bruce Boshart; and brother-in-law, Clark Graber.

Surviving is one daughter, Michelle (Eric) Caszatt of Columbia, Missouri; one son, Blair (Joanna) Carney of Apex, North Carolina; one sister, Lerace Graber of Lincoln, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Gage, Joshua, and Matthew Caszatt, and Bryson and Landon Carney; two great grandchildren, Asher and Nathaniel Caszatt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sharon attended the Alta Loma grammar school and graduated from Chaffey Union High School in Ontario, California. She attended the First Mennonite Church in Upland, California until she moved to North Newton, Kansas to attend Bethel College. She began as a music major but then realized nursing was a better fit. Sharon became a Registered Nurse at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, later earning a BS degree in Nursing. Her career as an RN included many years in the operating room which she dearly loved. She also worked as an institutional advisory nurse for the State of Missouri inspecting nursing homes.

Sharon met her future husband, Alan Carney while they were both working and attending college in Newton, Kansas. In 1970, they purchased a funeral homes in Macon, Bevier, and Callao, Missouri which they operated until they retired. Sharon was a member of the Macon United Methodist Church and P.E.O. International.

Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, in Bethlehem Cemetery near Anabel, Missouri.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends at the Macon United Methodist Church in Macon, Missouri.

Memorials in memory of Sharon may be made to Bethlehem Cemetery. They may be sent to or left at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri 63549.
