Daniel Fred Smith, age 60 of Waterloo, Iowa, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.
Born May 21, 1963, in Macon, Missouri, the son of M.F. and Shirley (White) Smith.
Surviving is his mother, Shirley Smith of La Plata, Missouri; his caregiver, Lisa; and several uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, M.F. Smith; stepfather, Gary Smith; and sister, Cheryl Smith.
Daniel was a 1981 graduate of Waverly-Shell Rock High School in Waverly, Iowa. He was well-known for his butterfly collections.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the La Plata Cemetery in La Plata, Missouri.
