Sylvia Ilean Murr, age 96 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, Missouri.

Born November 1, 1926 in Sullivan County, Missouri, the daughter of Walter and Lourena (Allred) Craig, on September 10, 1947 in Lancaster, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Earnest Lawrence Murr who preceded her in death on March 6, 2001.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, four sisters, one daughter-in-law, Penny Murr, and one grandson, Joshua Murr.

Surviving are two sons, Lonnie Murr of Baring, Missouri and Randy (Joy) Murr of La Plata, Missouri; one daughter, Lisa Snyder of Kirksville, Missouri; one brother, Carl Craig of Burlington, Iowa; three grandchildren, Crystal Murr, Logan Snyder, and Brooke Snyder; four great grandchildren, Alyssa Murr, Natalie Howerton, Jakob Karhoff, and Mason Karhoff; and one great-great-granddaughter, Ailayah Stark.

Sylvia was a graduate of Kirksville High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in La Plata. Sylvia enjoyed cooking, gardening, yard sales, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023 in the New Harmony Cemetery, east of La Plata, Missouri.
