Candace Rae Wait
August 30, 1941 - March 16, 2023
We are sad to announce the passing of Candace Rae Wait, long time resident of La Plata, Missouri, moving to Tennessee in 2017. Candy died at age of 81 on March 16, 2023, at AHC Northside Nursing Home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Candy is preceded in death by her husband Keith Wait, and daughter Heather Shannon Rae.
She is survived by three stepchildren: Melinda (Scott) Smith of Austin, Texas, Betsy (Russ) Maxey of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Jon Wait of Liberty, Missouri, 6 grandchildren: Sydney Smith, Jett Smith, Samantha Hull, Megan Maxey, Tristan Wait, Sydney Wait, one great-grandchild, Hadley Hull, and sister, Tina Wray of Wyoming
She was united in marriage to her second husband, Keith Wait, on December 6, 1985. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Candy was a Registered Nurse, an accomplishment she worked so hard for and was so proud to achieve. She was an avid reader and bird watcher, and she loved reminiscing about her days in New Hampshire as well as Jim Mountain in Wyoming.
There was a Celebration of Life on April 6, 2023, at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Candy loved hot fudge brownie sundaes. We celebrated accordingly, by serving them in her honor.
Her ashes will be laid to rest with her husband in the La Plata cemetery with a Graveside service on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 6:00 P.M.
