Mary Ann Collins

Mary Ann Collins, age 93 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022 at the La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, Missouri.
Born March 6, 1929 in La Plata, Missouri, the daughter of Harold and Alice (Farden) Mitchell. On March 28, 1945 in La Plata, she was united in marriage to Robert Collins who preceded her in death in 1976.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and grandson, Donald Collins.
Surviving are two children, Harold (Linelle) Collins of La Plata and Patsy (Loren) Pippin of La Plata; one brother, Clarence (Linda) Mitchell of West Burlington, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Clinton Collins, Melanie Malotte, Angela Giddings, Becky Yardley, Christy Treasure, Alan Kinney, and Adam Kinney; 24 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Ann lived most all of her life in the La Plata community. She was a 1947 graduate of La Plata High School and a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of La Plata. She was employed at Hollister Inc. for 29 years. Mary Ann enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
