David Carlyle Eitel, age 83 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at his home.

Born January 3, 1938 near Barnsville, Missouri, the son of Leonard and Loraine (Robinson) Eitel. On October 10, 1959 in La Plata, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Patsy Bruer who survives.

Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Monty and Jan Eitel of Topeka, Kansas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Phillip Worley of Tucson, Arizona, and Paige and David Carroll of Plano, Iowa; one brother and sister-in-law, Lavon and Jackie Eitel of La Plata, Missouri; five grandchildren, Michelle (fiancé, Andrew Downard) and Gabrielle Worley, Brianna, Kaleb, and Micah Carroll; three nephews Andy, Todd and Sheldon Eitel; one niece Vonna Scholzen; and one cousin, Norma Grubbs.

His parents preceded him in death.

David was a 1955 graduate of La Plata High School and served in the National Guard. He farmed most all of his life on his farm west of La Plata. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in La Plata. David loved the Lord and living by faith in Jesus Christ.

David loved living on the farm and spending time with his family. David’s family appreciates the help of dear friends, neighbors, and hospice in aiding him to spend his last days at home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in La Plata, Missouri. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 12:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
