Mary L. Plumlee

Mary L. Plumlee, age 92 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Born December 9, 1928 in Novinger, Missouri, the daughter of Adam and Myra (Barker) Schillie. On August 10, 1947 in Kirksville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Marion Plumlee who preceded her in death on November 5, 1996. Also preceding her in death were her parents and twelve siblings.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Susan Plumlee of Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters, Brenda Plumlee and Debra Jones both of La Plata, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Karaff of Claycomo, Missouri and Shirley Burke of Lake Zurich, Illinois; three grandchildren, Christine (Steve) Willard, Jeffrey (Andrea) Plumlee, and Melissa (David) Salter; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several step-grandchildren; step-great- grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews.
Mary was a 1948 graduate of Kirksville High School. She lived most of her life in the La Plata area where she was very active in the community. Mary was a long time member of the La Plata Christian Church.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the La Plata Christian Church in La Plata, Missouri. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the La Plata Christian Church Building Fund. They may be sent to or left at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, MO 63549.

Mary was one of the kindest, loving, generous, people I have known. I feel so blessed that she was the grandmother to my children, grand and great grand children. There are so many wonderful memories that we shared. She was always there with a helping hand. I will miss here dearly. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family and friends, Rest In Peace beautiful one. You are home.
