Gary Lee Pyle, age 77 of Elmer, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at his home.
Born September 16, 1941 in Elmer, Missouri, the son of Donald Arthur and Venita Irene (Webber) Pyle. On March 28, 1970 in Yarrow, Missouri he was united in marriage to Linda Haines who survives.
Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jonathon and Susanne Pyle of Cleveland, Ohio; one sister, Carol Hays of La Plata, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Charlie, Annaliese and Alex.
His parents and son, Justin Pyle preceded him in death.
Gary lived most all of his life in the Elmer and Gifford communities. He was a 1959 graduate of La Plata High School, and served in the United States Army. He farmed and worked for Bangert Trucking for many years. Gary spent several years on the La Plata Nursing Home Board. He was a member of the La Plata American Legion, Yarrow Methodist Church, and a founding member of the La Plata Bulldog Backers. He seldom ever missed a Bulldog sporting event.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the La Plata Christian Church. Officiating will be Pastor Darren Potter. Burial with military honors will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 1, 2019 with the family receiving friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
