Marilyn Kay Sinnock, age 67 of rural Ethel, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, Missouri.

Born November 21, 1949 in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Aven and Virginia (Maggart) Haggy. On August 4, 1979 in Ethel, Missouri she was united in marriage to Donald Sinnock, who preceded her in death on October 24, 1998.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and one brother-in-law, William “Bill” Hill.

Surviving is one sister, Carolyn Hill of Clarence, Missouri; two nephews, Terry Hill of rural Auxvasse, Missouri and Jerry Hill and wife Donna of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandnephews, Kyle Hill and fiancée Stephanie Hull of Sedalia, Missouri and Jeffery Hill of Olathe, Kansas; one grandniece, Katelin Smith and husband Aaron and great grandniece, Michaela Smith of Kansas City, Missouri; one uncle, the Reverend Vernon Maggart and wife Neta of St. Joseph, Missouri; one aunt, Eva Gallagher of Washington, Iowa; and several cousins, friends, and her cat, Fuzzy.

Marilyn was a 1967 graduate of Ethel High School, and later graduated from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri. She and her husband farmed south of La Plata until his death, after which, she returned to her parents farm. Marilyn enjoyed being with family and friends, crafts, and going to yard sales. She will be remembered most for her love of cats.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be the Reverend Vernon Maggart. Burial will be in Helton Cemetery north of Goldsberry, Missouri.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 30, 2017 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.

Memorials in memory of Marilyn Kay Sinnock may be made to the Helton Cemetery. They may be sent to or left at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri 63549.
