Warren "Mac" Lee McCray

Warren “Mac” Lee McCray, age 85 of Elmer, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at his home.
Born August 26, 1931 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of William Thomas and Breeta G. (Johnson) McCray.
Surviving is one son, Monte McCray and Melissa Knight of Independence, Missouri; one daughter, Cheryl Lynn McCray; one sister, Melva Brewer of Warsaw, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Norma “Corkey” McCray of Midland, Texas; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
His parents, one brother, Thomas McCray and one sister, Norma Jean Bogert, preceded him in death.
Mac lived most of his life in the Kansas City, Missouri area before moving to Macon County in 1999. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mac enjoyed living on his farm where he enjoyed fishing, duck and turkey hunting, baking cookies, and making sorghum with his good friend, Red Roberts.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2016 at the State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri under the direction of Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
Mac had requested to be cremated. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. They may be sent to or left at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri 63549.
