Nancy Ann Thomas, age 75 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, Missouri.
Born March 10, 1940, in Muscatine, Iowa, she was the daughter of Walter O. and Lela (Odom) Calloway.
Surviving is one son, Bryan Thomas and wife, Barbara, of La Plata, Missouri; one daughter, Deborah Strever and husband, Tim, of Winter Springs, Florida; two grandchildren, Rachel and Hannah Strever, of Winter Springs, Florida; two sisters, Teresa “Terry” Callis and husband, LaDon Payne of Nashville, Tennessee and Patricia “Pat” Robertson of Lafayette, Louisiana; an uncle, Berry Williams of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; and nieces and nephews.
Her parents and one sister, Wanda Conaway preceded her in death.
Nancy was a member of the La Plata United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing golf when the weather was just right, watching sports on TV, and visiting with family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2016 at the La Plata Christian Church. Officiating will be Pastor Lorri Landon and Pastor Karen Coy.
Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlos Coy, Don Miller, Don Mitten, Don Hunter, Harold Collins, and Ron Foster.
Visitation will be Monday, February 8, 2016 with the family receiving friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the La Plata Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to La Plata United Methodist Church, Hospice of Northeast Missouri, or La Plata Christian Church. They may be sent to or left at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri 63549.
