Mary Louise Beale
February 28, 1925 - June 19, 2013
Mary Louise Beale, age 88, of La Plata, Missouri passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was born February 28, 1925 in New Cambria, Missouri to Johnnie and Hertha (Morris) Davis. On February 28, 1947 in Macon, Missouri she married Keith Beale who preceded her in death on May 27, 2006.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother William Davis, and one sister Fern King.
She is survived by three sons, Jim and wife Sally Beale of Lebanon, Tennessee, Jack and wife Pat Beale of Higginsville, Missouri, and Joe and wife Kathy Beale of Granger, Texas; one daughter Janice and husband Roddy Bane of La Plata, Missouri; one sister-in-law Louise Davis of Callao, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Eric Beale, Ryan Beale, Heather Dawson, Jon Beale, Jamey Carlson, Jill Burgard, Jana Adams, Jennifer Beale, Jacky Noden, Justine, Jeana, and Cordel Bane; twenty great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was raised in the New Cambria area and graduated from New Cambria High School. In 1965 the family moved to La Plata and made their home in the same house since 1966. She was a member of the La Plata Community Presbyterian Church, the La Plata Order of the Eastern Star until its Merger with the Macon OES Chapter. She was a volunteer with Heartland RSVP the past 11 years and currently a board member for the La Plata Christian Ministries. Mary was awarded the Evelyn Bedell Award from the Missouri Union Presbytery on August 25, 2011. Mary was an avid La Plata Bulldog Fan. She was well known for her sewing, cooking and always being on the go. Mary loved camping, fairs,
music festivals and family gatherings.
Funeral Services will be Monday, June 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor John Becker. Music will be provided by Sara Beth Fouch.
Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Beale, Joe Beale, Jack Beale, Roddy Bane, Ryan Beale, and Cordel Bane. Honorary pallbearers are Lt. Col. Jon Beale, and Eric Beale.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
Memorials in memory of Mary may be made to La Plata Christian Ministries or the Community Presbyterian Church.
