Ruth Madeline Larson

Ruth Madeline Larson, age 94, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the La Plata Nursing Home.
Ruth was born December 10, 1916 at the family farm near Ethel, Missouri. She was the daughter of Carl Gustav and Jennie (Anderson) Larson.
Survivors include one brother, Edwin Larson of La Plata Nursing Home; two sisters, Myrtle Crippin of Marceline, Missouri, and Joan Clark of Ethel, Missouri; one nephew, two nieces, two
nieces-in-law and several great nephews and nieces.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, Esther Turner and Margaret Larson, one brother, Albert Larson, two nephews Roger and Keith Turner, two brothers-in-law, Randall Turner and Gene Crippin, and a sister-in-law, Martha Larson.
Ruth was a graduate of Bucklin High School and Kirksville State Teachers College. She began her teaching career in rural schools in the area. She taught elementary grades in Bucklin, Brookfield, and Jennings all in Missouri. She retired in 1976 after 41 years of continuous teaching.
Ruth was a member of the Ethel Presbyterian Church and the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.
During her lifetime, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening and especially clothes shopping.
As per her wishes, she was cremated. Private family services and burial will be at a later date.
