Ann Hunter
June 28, 1947 - March 14, 2011
Ann Hunter, age 63 of Overland Park, Kansas and formerly of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
Ann, or Suzie to her family, was born June 28, 1947 in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Cleo and Ruth (Gudehus) Hunter.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two nephews, David and Matt Hunter; two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Colleen; and all her aunts and uncles.
Surviving is her friend of 25 years, Mary Reiter; two brothers, Don Hunter of La Plata, Missouri and Dick Hunter of Cowgill, Missouri; one niece and five nephews and their families. Also surviving is Poco, her Pomeranian buddy and many friends including former students and colleagues.
After graduating from La Plata High School and Truman State University she taught eight years of high school English and Speech in Warrenton, Missouri. From there she moved to Kansas City and eventually worked for various long term care pharmacies in billing, office management, and traveling as a regional representative in billing. From 2000 to 2007 she lived in Sarasota, Florida and worked for Vanguard Pharmacy Systems in their billing and pharmacy support for assisted living facilities. She returned to Overland Park in September 2007.
A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 in La Plata Cemetery. Officiating will be the Reverend Beryl Cragg.
