Brett Thomas Jackson, 43, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014, at his home.

Brett was born on November 28, 1971, in Kirksville, Missouri, to Bob and Andrea Jackson. Brett married the love of his life, Audra Davison, on December 27, 1992.

Brett is survived by his wife, Audra Jackson; two children of the home, Trey and Bethany Jackson; his parents Bob and Andrea Jackson; two brothers, Reed and wife Carna Jackson of Chesapeake, VA, Lance and wife Paula Jackson of Miami, FL; father and mother-in-law Terry and Jenita Davison of La Plata, MO; brother-in-law Charlie Davison and wife Trish of La Plata, MO, Sister-in-law Sarah Halstead and husband Ryan of La Plata, MO, and brother-in-law Nate Davison of Columbia, MO; 8 nieces and nephews, Teagan and Ronan Jackson, Luke and Dylan Jackson, Ty and Jessica Davison, and Logan and Piper Halstead; special friend of the family, Laura Blake.

Brett was a graduate of La Plata High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from Northeast Missouri State University. Brett worked for the State of Missouri as a Meat Inspector for 11 years before going to work for Cargill in 2011. Brett enjoyed working on the family farm and raised sheep, horses, goats, and cattle. At the time of his death, Brett was a member of Cornerstone Church in Kirksville.

When not at work, Brett could be found hunting, fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, working on old trucks, and doing anything that involved being outdoors or in his shop. Most of all, Brett loved spending time with his family at home. Brett was known for his kindness and everyone that knew him loved and respected him.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00pm, Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the La Plata Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, December 8, 2014 at the La Plata Presbyterian Church with burial following at Gibbs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Brett Jackson Memorial for the purpose of assisting families who have patients in the hospital.

Pallbearers will be Trey Jackson, Bob Jackson, Reed Jackson, Lance Jackson, Charlie Davison, Nate Davison and Ryan Halstead. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Bane, Stacy Morgenstern, & Brett’s cousins.

Memorials to the Brett Thomas Jackson Memorial Fund may be left at or mailed to Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri 63549.
