Ruby Fern Campbell

Ruby Fern Campbell, 88 of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025 at home surrounded by family.
Ruby was born on June 1, 1936 in La Plata, Missouri to Johnnie and Estella (Barry) Moncrief and was a 1954 graduate of LaPlata High School. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Zella (Barry) Moncrief; and two sons, Frederick in infancy, and Frank Darin Campbell as well as one sister, Mary Porter.
She is survived by her children John David Campbell (Carole) of Warrenton, MO; Steve Campbell of Jacksonville, FL; Karen Calvert (Larry) of Blue Springs, MO; and Kevin Campbell of Jacksonville, FL. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was an active member of Sycamore Hills Baptist Church, Independence, MO where there was an informal Home Going gathering of friends and family on March 1, 2025 from 11 AM to 1 PM. Ruby’s nephew, Reverend Michael Porter, will conduct graveside services at 11 AM on May 3, 2025 with burial in the La Plata, MO cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Sycamore Hills Baptist Church or St. Croix Hospice.
