Travis Funeral Chapel

Dolores V. (Stafford) Davis, age 95, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Missouri, where she had been a resident for a short time.

Born April 17, 1931, in Waterloo, Iowa, she was the daughter of Jim and Ruby (Ruggles) Stafford. On May 28, 1950, she was united in marriage to Olin J. “Tobe” Davis who preceded her in death on July 19, 1998.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Jimmie Wayne Davis; one sister, Velma Meier; one brother, Ondrel Strafford Jr.; and one great grandson, Brenden Lee Peavler.

Surviving is one daughter, Toby (Alvin) Peavler of La Plata, Missouri; one brother, Floyd Stafford of Cole Camp, Missouri; grandchildren, Courtney (Devin) Berry and Marty (Andrea) Peavler; great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Kaylee Berry, Emilie and Lily Peavler, Hailey, Kayden and Leaha Valentine; niece and nephew, Debbie Nicolei and Allen Dyer; and other relatives and numerous friends.

Dolores was employed at Belt Fur and Wool for many years and later at Florsheim Shoe Company. She enjoyed doing home health care and loved to crochet and quilt. Dolores made many crocheted centerpieces for her Illinois Bend friends and gave many to special people in her life. Her hand quilted treasures were unique. Dolores garden and canned for many years.

Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Inurnment will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
