Linda Louise Simpson, age 86, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at her home.

Born June 22, 1939, in Waldo, Arkansas, the daughter of Harold and Louise (Baird) Hudgens. On March 14, 1981, in Camden, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Bill Simpson who survives.

Also surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Gary Cripe of La Plata, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lamb and Barbara Adamson; three great grandchildren, Jensen Rightmeier, Dylan Lamb and Rose Forsythe; and one brother, Terry Hudgens of Payson, Arizona.

Her parents and one brother, Bobby Hudgens preceded her in death.

Linda was raised in Waldo, Arkansas where she was a 1957 graduate of Waldo High School. She later attended and graduated from Southern Arkansas University with a BA degree in music. She taught in various public schools in the early part of her music teaching career and later gave private piano and voice lessons from her residence in Camden, Arkansas. She loved singing and enjoyed listening to classical music and opera.

Private graveside services will be in the La Plata Cemetery in La Plata, Missouri at a later date.
