William E. Jelmberg, age 93, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 22, 2025, at his home.

Born October 16, 1931, in Anacortes, Washington, the son of George and Thelma (Cox) Jelmberg. On June 12, 1955, in Vallejo, California, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Gentry who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Edwon Jelmberg of Kirksville, Missouri and Ernest (Mary) Jelmberg of Puyallup, Washington; three daughters, Delma Onken of La Plata. Missouri, Theresa (Kennie) Jellison of Allerton, Iowa, and Laura (Kelly) Lloyd of Omaha, Arkansas; one brother, George (Shelly) Jelmberg of Royal City, Washington; two sisters, Betty (Wiley) Allred of Moses Lake, Washington and Anna Christine (Allen) Jelmberg-Meidema of Bothell, Washington; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His parents and one brother, Clifford Jelmberg preceded him in death.

Bill served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He moved to La Plata from Vallejo, California in 1967. He enjoyed the outdoors, working on the farm, mushroom hunting, and working at the Christian Ministries Food Bank.

Graveside services with full military honors will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the La Plata Cemetery in La Plata, Missouri.

Visitation will be at Travis Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
