Lila May Wiggans, age 96, of Atlanta, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 22, 2025, at her home.

Born October 6, 1928, in Brookfield, Missouri, the daughter of Leo and Lorena (Parry) Walters. On June 1, 1946, in Atlanta, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Roscoe Wiggans who preceded her in death on December 26, 1989.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; one grandson, Bryan Rhoades; one brother, Robert L. Walters; infant brother, Leo Jr; and one sister, Betty L. Baker.

Surviving is one son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Phyllis Wiggans of Atlanta, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Ed Rhoades of Atlanta, Missouri; four grandchildren, Eric (Claudia) Rhoades , Nathan (DeAnna) Wiggans, Daniel (Haley) Wiggans, and Katelyn (Robert) Young; nine great grandchildren, Nash Wiggans, Madilyn Wiggans, Ella Marie Wiggans, Henley Young, Roscoe Young, Jovie Young, Bellamy Young, Haley Rhoades, and Lindsey Rhoades; and five great-great-grandchildren, Mya, Brysen, Harleigh May, Emberlynn, and Rya.

Lila lived most of her life in the Atlanta community. She was a graduate of Atlanta High School and Chillicothe Business School. She worked on the farm, was employed for many years at Macon-Atlanta State Bank in Macon, Missouri, and was a member of the Atlanta Community Club. Lila enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and making chocolate pies for her family.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Macon, Missouri under the direction of Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.

Memorials in memory of Lila Wiggans may be made to Hospice Compassus of Macon, Missouri. They may be sent to or left at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri 63549.
