Gregory Dale Williams

Gregory "Greg" Dale Williams, age 71, of LaPlata, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Greg was born August 15, 1953 in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Arthur Willis and Betty Jo Williams of Gifford, Missouri. On April 25, 1975, he was united in marriage to Judith "Judy" Green at the Methodist Church in La Plata.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dixie Rose. Greg is survived by his loving wife, Judy, three children, Jackie Williams of La Plata, Janie Williams of Graniteville, South Carolina, and Joshua Williams of La Plata; four grandchildren, Tyra (Jacobey) Preston, Christian, Jalen, and Jamison Williams; and three great-grandchildren, Azlynn, Easton, and Hudson.
Greg began his school years in Gifford MO, graduating from La Plata R-II High School in 1971. His career included La Plata Lumber Yard Manager, La Plata J Burdman Auto Part Store Manager, Serving as the Director of Utilites for the City of La Plata, and later retiring from the Department of Conservation. Greg served as a Grand Master of the La Plata Masonic Lodge and was a member of the La Plata Christian Church.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending time with his family, taking drives through the countryside, searching for arrowheads, his '39' Chevy, and crafting projects in his woodshop.
Greg will be remembered for his steady presence, his devotion to his family, and his love of the outdoors.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the La Plata Christian Church at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m.
