William "Bill" Charles Tiedeman
September 24, 1944 - December 17, 2025
Bill Tiedemann, age 81, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Born September 24, 1944, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the son of George William and Delores Gertrude (Bauer) Tiedemann. On February 12, 1966, in Belmont, Wisconsin, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Penny Eustice who preceded him in death on January 27, 2021. Also preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving are two sons, Nathan (Anastasia) Tiedemann of Kirksville, Missouri and Joshua (Lindsey) Tiedemann of La Plata, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Sam, Charlie, Henry, Will and, Lucy, Jaydon, Parker, and Holden; and three sisters, Jean Kadur, Barb Kamps and Betty Gobrecht, all of Belmont, Wisconsin.
Bill served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968. He retired from USDA, Food Safety and Inspection Service in 2004. He later was a driver for OATS for five years.
Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cards and golfing. He was affectionately known as “Birdie Bill” on the golf course.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the La Plata Christian Church in La Plata, Missouri.
Graveside services with military honors are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
