Jared W. McNew

Jared W. McNew, 49, formerly of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024, at a care facility in Maricopa, Arizona. Born August 4, 1974, in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of James and Janice (Gordan) McNew.
Surviving is his mother, Janice McNew of Island, Kentucky; stepmother, Kathy McNew of Arizona City, Arizona; two daughters, Jennifer (Blake) McNew of Savage, Minnesota and Jasmine (Byron) McNew of Kirksville, Missouri; one brother, John McNew of Island, Kentucky; and one sister, Michelle Schempp of Kirksville, Missouri.
His father, James McNew preceded him in death.
Jared was a 1993 graduate of La Plata High School. He had been a member of the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department and had been employed with BNSF Railroad as an engineer. Jared enjoyed camping, NASCAR, Chiefs football, barbecuing, riding motorcycles, and trips back to La Plata.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the First Christian Church in La Plata, Missouri. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, Missouri.
Memorials in memory of Jared may be made to the La Plata Fire Department.
