Karen Virginia (Mossbarger) Bragg

Karen Virginia Bragg, 80, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Born March 15, 1944 in Gifford, Missouri, Karen was the daughter of Robert and Marjorie (Pyle) Mossbarger. Karen was united in marriage to Ronald Ray Bragg on August 6, 1967 in the La Plata Christian Church.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Phyllis Beagley.
Karen is survived by her husband Ronald; two daughters, Stacey Michelle Ross and her husband Neal of Atlanta, Missouri, and Ashley Raye Deere and her fiancé Scott Fennewald of Ashland, Missouri; two sisters, Shirley Morrison and her husband Robert of Grandview, Missouri, and Kathy Perry and her husband Paul of La Plata; six grandchildren: Bryce Teter (Hayley Berry), Lexie Ross, Jase Deere, Addison Deere, Jessie Deere Jr., Brad Deere and Jesse Fennewald; one soon-to-be great grandchild, Brooks Teter; and several nieces and nephews.
Karen graduated from La Plata High School with the Class of 1963. She worked many years for Northeast Missouri State University (Truman) as a secretary. Karen was a member of La Plata Christian Church. Karen had a big heart and would never turn away a stray, all the neighborhood animals knew where to find a good meal.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024 in the La Plata Cemetery, with pastor Scott McNay officiating.
