Norma Jean Walker

Norma Jean Walker, age 85 of La Plata, Missouri, went to greet her heavenly Father on Monday, December 30, 2024, at her home.
Born June 20, 1939, in Laclede, Missouri, the daughter of Lester and Doris (Gray) Leonard. On December 25, 1958, in Arlington, Virginia, she was united in marriage to Claude H. Walker who preceded her in death on October 21, 2008.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one granddaughter, Joyce; and one great grandson, Jeffery.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda Dorlac of Weldon, Iowa; two sons, Leonard David Walker of Kirksville, Missouri and Claude Walker Jr. of Brashear, Missouri; six grandchildren, Wesley, Nancy, Katherine, Dakota, David, and Dylan; two step-grandchildren, Ariel Hicks and Tristin Smith; four great grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Helen Martin; and many more relatives and friends.
Jean was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in La Plata.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Elmer “Mac” McCully. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
