Travis Funeral Chapel

Mary I. Walker, age 85 of Macon, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Missouri.

Born July 14, 1939, in Bethel, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas and Florence (Jones) Spencer. On August 23, 1953, in Atlanta, Missouri, she was united in marriage to William Walker who preceded her in death on September 20, 2003.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Wally, Ervin, John, and William Marvin Spencer; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Walker.

Surviving is one son, Steve Walker and Barbara Tuggle of La Plata, Missouri; two granddaughters, Michelle (Marc) Brinkman and Melinda (Ben) Miles; five great grandchildren, Kierra Ann (Dylan) Young, Morgyn Brinkman, Megyn Brinkman, Parker Hinkle, and Logan Brinkman; one sister-in-law, Cathy Spencer of Leonard, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary had been employed for many years at Banquet Foods in Macon and later as the cook at the convenience store in Atlanta. She enjoyed playing cards, going on walks, mowing, dancing, All Star Wrestling, her dog, and loved spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, December 6, 2024, at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Larry Gilliland. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, east of Atlanta, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Marc Brinkman, Johnny Walker, Dylan Young, Floyd Kissee, Brian Bender, and Tommy Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Walker and Ben Miles.

Visitation will be Friday, December 6, 2024, with family receiving friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
