Wanda Louise Roberts

Wanda Louise Roberts, age 93 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the La Plata Nursing Home where she had made her home for the last 7 years of her life.
Born July 17, 1930 in Atlanta, Missouri, the daughter of Owen William and Nettie May (Snow) Jones. On September 27, 1947 in Macon, Missouri she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Leo Lynn Roberts who preceded her in death on December 15, 1996.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Lynda Liebhart; brothers, Owen and Theo; sisters, Leona, Ruby, Edith Fern, Maxine, Dorothy, and Reba Pearl; twin grandsons, Bryant and Blaine; and one great-great-granddaughter, Andi Marie.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda (James) Morgan of Macon, Missouri; three sons, Terrill (Terese) Roberts of Kirksville, Missouri, Marty (Julie) Roberts of La Plata, Missouri, and Darrin Roberts of La Plata, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Alisa Bittle, Chrissi (Kevin) Pipes, Shawn Perry, Gayla Perry, Tyler (Tammi) Perry, Kale Roberts, Jake (Nicole) Roberts, Blake Roberts, Grant (Brett) Roberts, Lydia Roberts, Austin Roberts, and Hannah Roberts; 15 great grandchildren, Amber, Trevor, Tanner, Piper, Andrew, Triniti, Timber, Baylin, Acelynn, Jett, Lucas, Baylor, Lennon, Ruby, and Kershaw; and one son-in-law Donnie Liebhart.
Wanda attended school in Atlanta until her senior year. As soon as Leo was discharged from his tour of duty with the Navy, they married and started their family of 5 children. She loved her life as a wife, taking care of her family and enjoyed being at home. Her family teased her about “never working a day in her life” but they knew better as she was a wonderful, caring mother and grandmother.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Macon, Missouri. Officiating will be Reverend Michael Birdsong.
