Lloyd "Jake" Newton Demory

Lloyd “Jake” Newton Demory, age 84 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at his home.
Born August 3, 1938 near La Plata, Missouri, the son of Jacob and Zelma (Beall) Demory.
Surviving are two children, Dana (Michael) Ruble of Columbia, Missouri and Darin Demory of Melissa, Texas; one brother, Jimmy Demory of the state of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Alicia, Cheyenne, Kristin, Clayton, and Nolan; and five great grandchildren, Gage, Lainey, Shayna, Logan, and Parker.
His parents preceded him in death.
Jake was a 1956 graduate of La Plata High School and a 1962 graduate of Kirksville State Teachers College. He owned and operated the La Plata Oil Company and later was employed as custodian at La Plata R-II Schools until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in La Plata. Jake was an avid outdoorsman who loved going hunting with family and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life at his home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
