Lenora Belle Grear

Lenora Belle Grear, 89 years, 5 months, and 15 days of LaPlata, MO and currently of Des Moines, IA passed away on October 30, 2022, in Ankeny, IA.
Born May 15, 1933, in LaPlata, Missouri, she was the daughter of Jesse and Nora (Lewis) Sacre. She was united in marriage to Wilsey Gene Grear, Sr. in 1951. They were blessed with two children Christina Le and Wilsey Gene, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Christina Le Bohnet of Ankeny, IA, grandsons Adam Bohnet and wife Debi of Las Vegas, NV and Seth Bohnet of Las Vegas, NV. Granddaughter Jessica Bohnet Wardyn and husband Jamz of Ankeny, IA, and Angela Belle Grear Costello and husband Russ of Mitchell, SD. Surviving Lenora are her five beloved great-grandchildren, Brett Wilsey Costello, Jordan Christopher Bohnet, Kennade Le Wardyn, Sawyer Belle Wardyn, and Addison Lynn Bohnet.
Preceding her in death were her husband Gene, her parents, one brother Gerald Dean, her son Wilsey Gene, Jr., and son-in-law John Bohnet, and sister-in-law Ruth Schladt.
Lenora grew up in LaPlata where she went to school. Her married life was spent in Nebraska, Iowa, North and South Dakota. Upon her husband’s retirement in 1994, they moved back to LaPlata. In the past she was a Brownie Troop Leader, PTA President and worker, Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Coordinator, Youth Group Leader, and active in all church Women’s Groups as well as the Christian Women’s Club Organization. She always enjoyed the activities of her precious children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and ever grateful for her shared life with husband Gene. She was a member of the LaPlata Baptist Church, PEO Chapter AP, Mitchell, SD, Atalpal II, Royal Neighbors, and FLPP an honorary member of Chapter BR T.T.T of Ankeny.
A Celebration of Life Service for Lenora will be at the La Plata Baptist Church on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., with Burial in the La Plata Cemetery.
It has been said, “He is rich who has two friends.” God showed her that regarding family and friends she was a Millionaire as she maintained contact with her many friends made throughout the years wherever she lived and to remember each day is a gift.
