Anita Louise (Agee) Lene

Anita Louise Lene, age 83 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at the La Plata Nursing Home.
Born September 10, 1938 at home in Elmer, Missouri, the daughter of Alton and Gertrude (Salyer) Agee. On March 4, 1956 in La Plata, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Weldon Leon Lene who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Randy (Cyndi) Lene of La Plata and Mike Lene of Elmer; one sister, Kay Houser of Macon, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Agee of Bevier, Missouri; one sister of heart, Janet Parrett; six grandchildren, Josh (Dawn) Besowshek, Seth (Jen) Besowshek, Kerri (John) Edwards, Tim Weber and Josh, Joe (Dana) Weber, and Abbie (Michael) Jennings; twelve great grandchildren, Barrett, Heath, Tyler, Ethan, Kalie, Bret, Karmyn, Ellie, Evan, Jozee, Ryker, and Lettie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ronda Renee; grandchild, Jonathan; two brothers, Glen Darrell and Ray; one sister, Deloma Stull; three brothers-in-law, Clifford Stull, Keith Houser, and Donald Rogers; and one sister-in-law, Wanda Rogers.
Anita and Weldon worked together most of their lives. She was a bookkeeper at MFA, Elmer Farm Supply, and Bangert Trucking. She enjoyed her many travels throughout the country including trips to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Anita enjoyed camping, rock hunting, and arrowhead hunting with Weldon. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners at her home in Elmer, and has passed on a love of traveling and cooking to her grandkids. She also enjoyed talking on the phone with friends, college basketball, and reading books. Anita had the biggest heart and loved spending time with her family.
Anita was a member of the Elmer Baptist Church before moving her membership in 2013 to the La Plata Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funereal home.
Inurnment will be in the Elmer Cemetery in Elmer, Missouri.
