Leland Earl Moyer

Leland Earl Moyer, age 86 of Atlanta, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at his home.
Born December 12, 1932 in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Kenneth Earl and Reta M. (McClay) Moyer. On May 11, 1968 in Kirksville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Mary E. Rhoads who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James A. Elrod (Cathy) of Macon, Missouri and Tim L. Elrod of Atlanta, Missouri; three daughters, Deborah T. Wiedenkofer (Keith) of Madison, Missouri, Tammy L. Teague of Atlanta, Missouri, and Verna R. (Steve) Brunstein of Montrose, Iowa; one brother, John (Janice) Moyer of Novelty, Missouri; one sister, Rebecca Moyer of Novelty, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and one brother, Ray Moyer preceded him in death.
Leland was a 1951 graduate of La Plata High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. He was raised on the family farm in Knox County and moved to Atlanta in 1968 where he continued to farm. Leland was a member of the Beaux and Belles Square Dance Club of Macon, Missouri and the Atlanta Baptist Church. He took pride in being a hard working farmer. Leland also loved to travel.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m.

So very sorry to hear of Leland's passing. I loved my cousin so much. Will miss him.
