Dennis Keith Curtis, age 64 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at his home.
Born September 16, 1953 in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Ray Junior and Mary B. (Jenkins) Curtis. On October 11, 1987 in Plevna, Missouri he was united in marriage to Melva (Rimer) Lindsey who survives.
Also surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Candy (Sonia) Curtis of Shelbina, Missouri, Jeremy (Heather) Curtis of La Plata, Missouri, and Roland (Nicole) Lindsey of La Plata, Missouri; one daughter, Erica (Guy) McLin of Kirksville, Missouri; Four brothers, Frank Curtis of La Plata, Missouri, Clifford Curtis (Becky) of Glenwood, Iowa, Joe Curtis (Cheryl) of La Plata, Missouri, and Danny Hickman (Cheryl) of Orting, Washington; one sister, Mary Prough and one sister-in-law, Arthythe Curtis both of La Plata, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Serenity Tebow, Cassidy Curtis, Kylie Curtis, Jacob Curtis, Matthew Lindsey, Cade Vilt, Lucy Lindsey, Emory Lindsey, Arden McLin, and Zuri McLin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His parents and one brother, Jeff Curtis preceded him in death.
Dennis was a 1971 graduate of La Plata High School. He was a proud owner/operator of
Dennis Curtis Trucking. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family and spending time with his grandchildren. Dennis was a member of the La Plata Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, Missouri.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, 2018 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel.

Melva and family
The though we know heaven has welcomed our dear DC, our hearts still feel the sorrow. As a dispatcher for years, talking daily with DC the most caring person you could ask for. He will be greatly missed now he doing what he loved to do, trucking in heaven.. Our thought and prayers go out to Melva and family, May God Bless us all.
