Donald Lee Gash

Donald Lee Gash, age 90 of Raytown Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the Westridge Gardens Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Raytown, Missouri.
Born September 25, 1926 in Gifford, Missouri, the son of Herbert L. and Lula M. (Magers) Gash. On February 27, 1948 in Kirksville, Missouri he was united in marriage to Geraldine Collins who survives.
Also surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald L. and Kathy Gash of Phoenix, Arizona, Murril G. and Allison Gash of Danville, California, and Steven L. and Lisa Gash of Lees Summit, Missouri; one brother, Richard Gash of Austin, Texas; one sister, Donna Gray and husband Jerry of New Boston, Missouri; five grandchildren, Christopher Gash, Ryan Gash, Adam Gash, Makenzie Gash, and Haley Gash; and four great grandchildren, Gunnar Gash, Charlotte Gash, Beck Gash, and Mason Gash.
His parents preceded him in death.
Donald was a 1944 graduate of Elmer High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946. He lived most of his life in Raytown where he was employed with Jack Cooper Transport Company for 37 years. Donald was a member of the Elmer Christian Church.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Scott McNay. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 22, 2017 with the family receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel.
