Nadine Pinkston, age 86 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Monday July 24, 2017 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Born August 21, 1930 in Millard, Missouri, the daughter of Phillip Lawson and Beulah Blanche (Buck) Scott. On December 23, 1950 in Kirksville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Charles Pinkston who preceded her in death on October 25, 2015.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Kenneth Scott; one half-brother,
La Hoyt Scott; one sister, Frances Helton; one half-sister, Letha Miller; two brothers-in-law, Paul Pinkston and John Newman; and two sisters-in-law, Neva Moore and Lucille Ross.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Dorene Pinkston of Moberly, Missouri and Lonnie and Lori Pinkston of La Plata, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Owen Rafferty of Decatur City, Iowa; three sisters, Faye Newman of Columbia, Missouri, Neva Buckallew and husband Lyle of Kingman, Arizona, and Katheryn Gregory and husband Donald of Kirksville, Missouri; two granddaughters, Tara Bowman and Laryn Pinkston; three grandsons, Eric, Cameron, and Dane Pinkston; two great grandsons, Brett Bowman and Barrett Pinkston; five great granddaughters, Landen and Ashlyn Bowman, Carmen McLain, Mati Pinkston and Eva Pinkston; and several nieces and nephews.

Nadine was a 1948 graduate of Brashear High School. She taught in a rural school in Adair County. She also worked many other jobs including Banquet Foods in Macon, DeLish in La Plata, MaGraw Edison, Florsheim Shoe and Wal-Mart in Kirksville. She was a member of La Plata Baptist Church.

Nadine loved going to any event that her family was involved in; reading and watching Cardinal baseball games; and gardening. Her family will always remember her for Saturday night chili suppers and her famous cinnamon rolls.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Matt Tanner. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
