Eddie Lewis Green, age 78 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his home.
Born January 15, 1939 in La Plata, Missouri, the son of Arthur (Tator) L. and Edna I. (Burch) Green. On June 7, 1959 in La Plata, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Newberry who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Danny Green of Macon, Missouri, Jeff Green and wife Lynette of Peoria, Arizona, and Robert Green and wife Pam of Huntsville, Missouri; one daughter, Ruth Ann Lingerfelt and husband Bill of Grove, Oklahoma; one sister, Norma Miller of La Plata, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Dalton, Trevor, Ryan, Neil, Michael, Matthew, Miranda, Billy and wife Kathy, Coleen and husband Darren, Tara, and Alex; three great grandchildren, Dakota, Marlie, and Liam; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his niece, Tracy who had lived with him and Carol for many years; and his dog, Reggie.
His parents, two brothers, Junior and Van, and one grandson, Austin preceded him in death.
Eddie was a 1957 graduate of La Plata High School. He worked at Green’s Garage most all of his life before moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1986. Eddie and Carol moved back to the area in 2004. He was a member of the La Plata Christian Church.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the La Plata Christian Church in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Scott McNay.
Visitation will be Friday, April 21, 2017 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 at the La Plata Christian Church.
