William R. "Bill" Fredman

William R. "Bill" Fredman, age 89 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the La Plata Nursing Home.

Born January 12, 1928 in Elmer, Missouri, the son of George E. “Bay” and Ora P. (Hiles) Fredman. On August 11, 1949 in Kirksville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Milly Jean Cronkhite who preceded him in death on June 24, 1996.

Also preceding him in death were his parents; two infant children; one daughter-in-law, Pat Fredman; one brother, Gerald Fredman; two sisters, Wanda Bradshaw and Dolores Jones; and one grandson, Jared Gregory.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Garna Fredman of Jacksonville, Missouri and Larry and Debbie Fredman of La Plata, Missouri; special friend, Marguerite Hodges of La Plata, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Rilletta Brokaw of La Plata, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jennifer Hall and husband Jeff, Brandon Fredman and wife Sarah, Becky Brizendine and husband Andrew, Jennie Knighton and husband Jeff, Carrie Gregory, and Amanda Hatfield and husband John; fifteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Bill lived most all of his life in the La Plata area where he farmed. He also worked various other jobs, including Macon County Road and Bridge and McGraw Edison. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, and especially spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Chaplain Jim Bolin. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Fredman, Brandon Fredman, Edgar Jones, Jeff Hall, Randy Hodges, and David Hodges. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Fritz, Ralph Burton, Eddie Burton, John Hatfield, and Andrew Brizendine.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
