Maggie L. Cupp, age 97 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Born January 25, 1920 in Yarrow, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas and Effie (Steele) Plumlee. On May 18, 1943 in Kirksville, Missouri she was united in marriage to William Dean Cupp who preceded her in death on December 13, 1968.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Merle and Marion Plumlee; three sisters, Mildred Smith, Marvel Matheney, and Minnie Olive Richardson; one daughter-in-law, Carole Cupp; one granddaughter, Tanniea Cupp Raymer; one great granddaughter, Robin Helm; and one great-great-granddaughter, Bristol Thurman.
Surviving are two sons, Dannie D. Cupp of Kirksville, Missouri and Thomas L. (Charla) Cupp of La Plata, Missouri; grandchildren, Tisha Meyers, Brandt (Tracy) Cupp, Shannon (Josh) Garnett and Shane Cupp; great grandchildren, Tristin and Travis Meyers, Tierra Cupp, Kortney Thurman, Chase, Makenzie, and Alexandra Cupp, Kennedy Garnett, A.J., Kaleb, and Brooke Raymer, Holly and Cody Helm; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Maggie, Dean and their children spent twenty years traveling as a military family. They moved back to La Plata in 1964. Maggie was a member of the La Plata Christian Church. She enjoyed being with family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, November 10, 2017 with the family receiving friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the La Plata Nursing Home. They may be sent to or left at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri 63549.
