Clinton Laverne Steele

Clinton Laverne Steele, age 81 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his farm.
Born November 29, 1935 near La Plata, Missouri, the son of Finas Berle and Mary Ruby (Bragg) Steele. On August 6, 1953 in Novelty, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Velva Rourke who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Rusty Steele and wife Jackie of La Plata, Missouri, Cathy Capps of Kirksville, Missouri, Linda Smith of La Plata, Missouri, and Patty Myers and husband Mark of La Plata, Missouri, ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
Clinton was a 1953 graduate of Novelty High School. He lived most all of his life near Sue City where he farmed. Clinton was an avid hunter and golfer.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Reverend Lori Landon. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Casey Steele, Mike Smith, Matt Smith, Josh Waddle, Nick Myers, and Luke Myers.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Sunday at the funeral home.
