Sandra Sue Gramling

Sandra Sue Gramling, age 77 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Born November 24, 1938 in Kirksville, Missouri, she was the daughter of Willie D. and Beulah Florence (Hays) Simler. On March 23, 1957 she was united in marriage to George Gramling who preceded her in death on July 29, 2005.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Wava Lee and Billy Howell.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Koni and Colin Foster of St. Joseph, Missouri and Kelly and Tom Marshall of La Plata, Missouri; two brothers and sisters-in-law, her twin, Sam and Dianna Simler of St. Peters, Missouri and Billie D. and Margaret Simler of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Grant Marshall, Heather Brassell and husband Jay, and Ryan Hodges and wife Kaytlin; three great grandchildren, Jackson, Caysen, and Easton Brassell; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Sandra was a graduate of Kirksville High School. She was employed for many years at the La Plata State Bank and later was the clothing director of the La Plata Christian Ministries, retiring in 2013. Sandra was a member of the First Baptist Church in La Plata, Missouri.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Elmer “Mac” McCully and Pastor Matt Tanner.
Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Colin Foster, Thomas Marshall, Grant Marshall, Ryan Hodges, Jay Brassell, and Donnie Sizemore.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 28, 2016 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
Memorials in memory of Sandra Sue Gramling may be made to the Sandra Sue Gramling Memorial Fund. They may be sent to or left at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri 63549.
The family will be staying at the Depot Inn and Suites in La Plata starting Saturday the 27th. It would be greatly appreciated, if any food items that friends are wanting to deliver to the family that they be dropped off at the Depot Inn starting on Saturday.
