Travis Funeral Chapel

Charles B. Wilson, age 79 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Born October 30, 1936 in La Plata, Missouri, he was the son of Babe and Mary Margaret (Newkirk) Wilson. On December 30, 1991 Hagers Grove, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Carol A. O’Donnell who preceded him in death on April 19, 2015.

Also preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Roma Rodriquez and Glenna Daniel; and one brother, Lewis Wilson.

Surviving is one stepson, Scott Rowan of Orlando, Florida; one sister-in-law, Betty Wilson of La Plata, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Eugene and Kelly Grgurich of Kirksville, Missouri.

Charles enjoyed riding his mules in his younger days, partying with his friends and family, and walking his dog, Casey. Charles had a heart of gold.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 in the La Plata Cemetery. Officiating will be his nephew, Gene Wood. Pallbearers will be Tom Cupp, Jerry Wood, John Beever, Danny Wood, Walt Daniel, Eugene Grgurich, Glenn Wood, Kenneth Wright, and Jim Moore.

There will be no visitation.
