Mena Jo Palmer

Mena Jo Palmer, age 83 of Atlanta, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at her home.
Born September 24, 1932 in Adair County, Missouri, she was the daughter of Earl and Della (Coy) Moore. On October 17, 1979 in Macon, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Billy Palmer who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, John Moore and wife Linda of Adair, Missouri, Sherwin Palmer and wife Lorrie of Omaha, Nebraska, and Herschel Palmer and wife Linda of Omaha, Nebraska; two daughters, Julie Hanline of Springfield, Missouri and Elizabeth Grimshaw and husband James of Macon, Missouri; one half brother, George Moore of Arizona; twenty-four grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, John James Moore, one brother, Ben Moore and one great grandchild.
Jo received her education at Kirksville High School. She worked as a LPN for a number of years at what was then KOH Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri.
She enjoyed reading, working and helping Billy on the farm, and especially spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Matt Stieger. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Redman, Missouri.
Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2016 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Travis Funeral Chapel.
