Betty Jo Williams

Betty Jo Williams age 87 of La Plata, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, Missouri.
Born July 8, 1928 in Independence, Missouri, she was the daughter of Orville and Zena (Frieze) Hays. On November 19, 1945 she was united in marriage to Arthur Willis Williams who preceded her in death on February 20, 1970.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one daughter, Dixie Lee Rose, and one brother, J.W. Hays.
Surviving is one son, Greg Williams and wife Judy of La Plata, Missouri; two sisters, Barbara Hamilton of Elmer, Missouri and Shirley Weber and husband Ron of Kirksville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Mindy Crow of Boise, ID, Jason Rose of Kansas City, MO, Jackie Williams of Macon, MO, Janie Williams of Augusta, GA, and Josh Williams, of La Plata, MO.
Betty Jo lived most all of her life in Macon County, Missouri. She was employed at Hollister Inc. in Kirksville for many years until retirement. She had been a member of O.E.S. and Atalpal in La Plata, Missouri. Betty Jo enjoyed reading, watching old movies, visiting friends, and loved spending time with her family.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016 in the La Plata Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Carlos Coy.
Betty Jo has been cremated and no visitation will be held.
