Virgil Edward Green

Virgil Edward Green, age 85 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Parkside Manor in Columbia, Missouri.
Born May 4, 1931 in Booneville, Missouri, the son of Virgil Gray and Freda Luella (Bills) Green.
Surviving is one sister, Marguerite Davidson of Enid, Oklahoma; several cousins, including Margaret and Roy Manning of Columbia, nieces, nephews; and friend and care giver, Griff Gresham of Columbia, Missouri.
His parents, one brother, R.J. Green, and one sister, Sylvia Summy precedes in death.
Ed was a graduate of La Plata High School. He helped his dad with the Green Theater for a number of years and later started Green Photography, which he operated for 40 years. Ed had been a member of the La Plata Lions Club, El Kadir Shrine in Kirksville, Missouri and the First Christian Church in La Plata, Missouri.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Scott McNay. Burial will be in Locke Cemetery, south of Marceline, Missouri.
