Travis Funeral Chapel

Leola Dale Schneider, age 98 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the La Plata Nursing Home.

Born March 16, 1917 in La Plata, Missouri, she was the daughter of Clark and Martha (Anderson) Wares. On January 30, 1934 in Edina, Missouri she was united in marriage to Claud Lavern Wood who preceded her in death on February 19, 1965. On October 3, 1965 in Warrensburg, Missouri she was united in marriage to Maynard Schneider who preceded her in death on March 7, 1986.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, one son, Bill Wood, one son-in-law, Bob Biggs, and granddaughter Mandy Lu Biggs.

Surviving are two children, Linden “Buster” Wood and wife Janet of La Plata, Missouri and Lodena Biggs of Lenexa, Kansas; five grandchildren, Tim Wood and wife Shelley, and Tonya Wood, both of La Plata, Missouri, Stephanie Harris, Alicia Nentwig and husband Brian of Shawnee, Kansas, and Terri McLean and husband Chris of Woodlawn, Tennessee; and eight great grandchildren, Summer, Justin, and Pieper Wood, Paige and Emma Nentwig, Zane Harris, and Cameron and Isabella McLean.

Leola was a member of the La Plata Community Presbyterian Church, and the Mutual Improvement Neighborhood Club. She enjoyed visiting with family and had a special love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2015 in the La Plata Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 9, 2015 with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
