Doris E. Waters

Doris E. Waters, 87, of Bloomington, Illinois, died at 3:48 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Heritage Health, Bloomington.
She was born November 24, 1927 in La Plata, Missouri, a daughter of Hobart M. and Gracie May Easley Slaughter. She married M. Thomas Waters on June 3, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1998.
Surviving are her children, Greg (Christie) Waters of Bloomington and Cheri (William) Wasz of Englewood, FL; four grandchildren, Greg (Jenna) Wasz, Erin (Michael) Christie, Martin Waters and Carissa Waters; four great-grandchildren, Brendan Wasz, Hannah Wasz, Jillian Christie and Claire Christie; two sisters, Pat Bushman and Carol Ann Kampman; and a brother, Bob Slaughter.
Doris was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing piano and was a longtime member of the Southside Boat Club in Quincy.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Reverend Scott McNay.
Inurnment will be in the La Plata Cemetery, La Plata, Missouri.
