Sharon D. Gramling

Sharon D. Gramling, age 79 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Born October 10, 1936 in Gifford, Missouri, he was the son of George Everett and Annabelle (Kerr) Gramling. On January 8, 1961 in La Plata, Missouri he was united in marriage to Iris Jean Hays who preceded him in death on October 8, 2014.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, George Gramling; and one grandson, Derek Tuggle.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy Tuggle and Monti Ross of La Plata, Missouri and Cheri Spencer and husband Mike of Virginia Beach, Virginia; one brother, Jimmy Gramling and wife Peggy of Kirksville, Missouri; two sisters, Reva Abbott and husband Nile of Kansas City, Missouri and Linda Erwin and husband Al of Willmathsville, Missouri; one grandson, Rodney Tuggle of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Sandra Gramling of La Plata, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Sharon lived most of his life in the Kirksville and La Plata communities. He was a graduate of Kirksville High School and later served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. He was a past member of the La Plata Masonic Lodge and El Kadir Shrine in Kirksville. Sharon farmed for many years in the area.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the La Plata Cemetery in La Plata, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Rodney Tuggle, J.R. Tuggle, Steve Abbott, Mike Erwin, Danny Gramling, and Jeff Gramling. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Spencer and Monti Ross. There will be no visitation.
