Ronald Earle Baker

Ronald Earle Baker, age 83 of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri.
Born December 17, 1931 in Morris, Illinois, he was the son of Reuben E. and Ruth Caroline (Johnson) Baker.
Surviving are four sons, Birney E. Baker of Janesville, Minnesota, Bruce E. Baker of Canton, Georgia, Brian E. Baker of McCallsburg, Iowa, and Bart E. Baker of Roland, Arkansas; two sisters, Fay Male and Evelyn Trenter both of Morris, Illinois; eleven grandchildren and more than a dozen great grandchildren.
His parents, wife Bernice Marie Crump, and good friend Wilma Hiles preceded him in death.
Ronald graduated high school in Morris, Illinois where his time on the track team earned him his nickname “Speed Baker”. He then served in the United States Army and later was employed at Caterpillar Manufacturing. Ronald was a farmer at heart. He owned farms near Macon, Missouri and later near South Gifford, Missouri that he worked until retirement.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri under the direction of Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri. There will be no visitation.
