Ella M. Clem

Ella M. Clem, age 95 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at the La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, Missouri.
Born September 3, 1919 near Browning, Missouri, she was the daughter of Edward Grant and Alda Malinda (Breeding) Brookshier. On February 16, 1936 she was united in marriage to Floyd C. Cokerham who preceded her in death on December 15, 1962. On November 25, 1966 she was united in marriage to Holland D. Clem who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Melba J. (Cokerham) Bowen of Kirksville, Missouri and Martha (Cokerham) Bagley of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one son, Danny L. Clem and wife Debbie of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren, Jon Bowen and wife Tina, Ronald Bowen and wife Tamra, Ian Clem and wife Haley, and Sean Clem and wife Natalie; ten great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, including niece, Debbie Rice of Kirksville, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd Cokerham, granddaughter Jana Bowen, son-in-law Jack Bowen, one sister, Dolores Taylor, and two brothers, George and Joel Brookshier.
Ella was a member of the La Plata Christian Church, PEO Chapter B.F., and Atalpal. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Ella enjoyed 34 years of wintering in Arizona with her husband Holland.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 at the La Plata Christian Church. Officiating will be Reverend Scott McNay. Music will be provided by Sara Beth Fouch, organist and Polly Matteson, soloist. Musical selections will be “How Great Thou Art” and “Wind Beneath My Wings”.
Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, Missouri.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 1, 2015 with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the La Plata Christian Church. There will be PEO services starting at 5:00 p.m.
