Wilma Mae Hiles, age 93 of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

Born October 12, 1920 in LaCross, Missouri, she was the daughter of William Samuel and Etta Florence (Jarrad) McCullough. On February 27, 1935 she married Othia Hiles who preceded her in death on August 12, 1998.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Maxine Bellmyer and Mary Margaret Thudium; one brother, Henry “Red” McCullough; one daughter, Shirley Mae Hiles; one grandson, Richard Stephenson; one son-in-law, Ralph Hardman; and one daughter-in-law, Kathy Hiles.

Survivors include one son, Othia E. (Gene) Hiles and wife Mary Louise of Topeka, Kansas; three daughters, Marjorie Lou Alamilla and husband Robert of Prairie Village, Kansas, Madelin C. Hardman of Kirksville, Missouri, and Mary Jo Miller and husband Lee of Chilhowee, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Jeannette Klinkenborg, Carolyn Franklin, Crystal Singer, Steven Hiles, Daniel Hiles, Jason Hiles, Bret Thomas, Theresa Vallow, Tracy Ogea, and Shelly Bonner; 23 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

Wilma lived in Kansas City, Missouri until her retirement from the Bendix Corperation. She then resided in Elmer, Missouri until the death of her husband, moving to Kirksville in 1998.

Wilma enjoyed spending time with her family, and in recent years enjoyed going dancing with her friend Ronald Baker.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July17, 2014 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Reverend Scott McNay.

Burial will follow in the La Plata Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 17, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri 63549.
